Joseph Callaly

BIO: Joseph Callaly is a contemporary artist whose practice blends performance, installation and research. As a sound and multimedia artist, Joseph has exhibited locally and internationally, specialising in spatial and interactive works. With experimental electronic trio, Glome, performance highlights include events at Melbourne Music Week, E-Gallery Malaysia, ONO & Chantelouve France. Glome's work combines electro-acoustic improvisation with dance music forms, their most recent LP release was critically described as "Skin crawling electronics and subnautical pressure combine for equal moments of paranoia and exaltation. A distinctly digital presence haunts the periphery but its intentions remain unknown".

As an active researcher, Joseph's writing explores the intersections of creativity and ecology, and is currently undertaking a PhD project examining posthuman theories of art, technology and environment.
